What did I do before my laptop?

I feel like I was going "old school" today. To my dismay, I arrived at school realizing my laptop was still in my bedroom after being removed from my car for our weekend trip to Brownwood State Park. All my melodic and rhythmic cards and sight-reading materials are all on that precious piece of technology. So, I get to my classroom and start searching for all my handmade flash cards. The students were a little bummed, but I did make it through the day with no glitches. Of course with the projector, I'm good about forgetting to get it warmed up before class begins and then have to pull something out of thin air to do while we wait. I do have a desktop machine in my classroom, so I was still able to keep up with my email and enter grades. I'm definitely going to make sure it's in the car tomorrow.

As I'm writing this, I'm having flashbacks of Abby's dance recital. A scared almost 3 year old standing on stage with her fingers in her mouth. Performing on stage is definitely not her thing even though she can perform all day for us at home. I will say she did a great job singing.  Her teacher said they were doing the motions during practice. You wouldn't know by watching the video. I guess I'm thankful Abby didn't revert to that 3 year old with her fingers in her mouth.

Our Newest Additions

Meet Duchess and Neo. Two of the sweetest kittens, ever. They join Betsy the dwarf hamster. They love to cuddle in open arms and sit in warm laps. Skids and Elise would never let Andy or me just grab them and hold them, It had to be on their terms. 

About two weeks ago, Abby and I went to the shelter after seeing their pictures online. They were the last two left out of the litter. Mom or Dad was Siamese. Duchess inherited the beautiful blue eyes. It's hard to tell from the picture, but she is also a diluted calico. Neo reminds us of Elise, my first "baby", who passed away not long ago. 

Abby's favorite is Duchess and she loves it when  Abby holds her. Every time Reagan enters the room, the kittens scramble to hide from her. We're still teaching Reagan how to hold them without strangling or squeezing. I'm sure the girls are going to miss them this weekend.

Well, it's been one year since we found we were having another little girl. At seven months, Reagan is such a delight to watch and play with. She's very vocal now. She says mama, dada, baba, and of course abba. She rolls all over the living room to get to where she wants to go. It won't be long before she starts crawling. She still doesn't have any teeth, but the way she chews on everything, you would think she would have cut one by now.

Abby loves being the big sister and helping out. She just had her 4th birthday, and recently got her ears pierced. She is so proud of them and was able to pick the earrings she wanted. She picked sapphires since blue is her favorite color. It's hard to believe she'll be starting Pre-K in a month.

Andy and I are doing great. I've been enjoying the summer and the time off from work. Andy's been working hard selling homes. We've had a few illnesses in the family, but hopefully we'll all be healthy the rest of the year.
